Homework 1-4-10 thru 1-8-10
Put the date at the top of each journal page! Parents, please work with your child, but do not do the work for you child. Let them show you what they know!
Monday (Phonics & Writing): Lowercase d and b are easily confused. On you paper, randomly make 5 d’s and 5 b’s. Circle all the d’s. Write a sentence at the bottom “D is for _____ and ______ and _______ and ________.” Make sure your d’s are correct!
Tuesday (Math): Trace a penny 5 times and color them brown. Now draw one more and color it. How many do you have in all? Write a sentence to tell about this story. Next, write another sentence to tell how many pennies are in one nickel.
Wednesday (Science/Social Studies): We have been talking about United States Celebrations. Some of the special people and holidays we celebrate in our country are Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Presidents' Day, the Declaration of Independence, Abraham Lincoln, Betsy Ross, and George Washington. Find one picture from a book, newspaper, or internet and write the name of a holiday and the date that we celebrate. Write a sentence to tell why it is important as a U.S. celebration.
Thursday (Language Arts): Take a walk inside of your home and make a list of 5 words and their opposites. Ex. empty-full, clean-dirty.
Friday (Reading): Read three books this weekend for fun. Which was your favorite?
*Remind your child to turn in their Homework Journal this week. They are due on Fridays.*
