Homework Jan. 25-29, 2010
Put the date at the top of each journal page.
Parents, please work with your child, but do not do the work for you child.
Let them show you what they know!
Monday (Phonics & Writing): NO SCHOOL
Tuesday (Math): Using a measuring teaspoon, fill it up carefully to the top with water several times to see how many teaspoons will fit into a cup. Next, do the same using a tablespoon. Trace both spoons in your journal, then write the number of times you filled each spoon below each drawing. Which spoon needed to be filled up more times in order to fill the measuring cup?
Wednesday (Science/Social Studies): Write 2 sentences about your favorite American holiday. Illustrate your sentences.
Thursday (Language Arts): Decorate a box with the letter L. Inside the box place pictures, items or words that begin with L. Draw a picture of Larry Lion holding a lamp in your journal.
Friday (Reading): Choose a book to read with a family member. First, find all the words that you know in the book. Next, have that family member read a page to you first, then you read the page to your family member.
*Remind your child to turn in their Homework Journal this week. They are due on Fridays.*
Have fun!
