Homework 5-10-10 thru 5-14-10
Put the date at the top of each journal page! Parents, please work with your child, but do not do the
work for you child. Let them show you what they know!
Monday (Phonics & Writing): 1.) Write your first and last names using correct capitalization and spelling. 2.) Choose 5 sight words from the back of this page. Write sentences using all of the words. You can put more than one sight word in a sentence. Write neatly!
Tuesday (Math): Make homemade paper flash cards with the numbers 0-10 written on each one. Flip them over so you can't see the numbers. Flip over 2 cards and create a math "subtraction" number sentence in your journal. Draw a picture to represent your number sentence. Now do this again two more times to create more subtraction sentences. Remember that the biggest number should always come first! Explain to an adult why the biggest number must come first.
Wednesday (Science/Social Studies): Compare and contrast needs and wants. Name 3 things you need to live and 3 things you want.
Thursday (Language Arts): Draw a picture of your favorite animal. Write a short story about your animal use as many Kindergarten Sight Words that you know. Be creative in your drawing and use some silly sentences about your animal. Have Fun!!
Friday (Fun Stuff): While riding in the car, taking a bath, doing your hair, etc. have a parent help you practice spelling the Kindergarten sight words out loud. How many can you spell correctly?
